Wasted Time

Went through long process of getting weight loss surgery. Only to be told I don't qualify. Dr. Truss had explained  the procedure and told me it was a good option for me with my GERD and class 2 obesity. He asked what insurance I had and told me that Medicare covers this with my GERD diagnosis.i have recently called them and they said yes as well. One commorbity and my BMI is fine and meets the criteria. I call to explain to explain and they have not returned my requests in over a month. My insurance has paid for several tests and appointments. Probably for cost exceeding the surgery itself. Nobody will call or get records that I do actually qualify. He's willing to proceed with a surgery that he did not recommend for my Gerd which originally he did not recommend.i don't know why DHMC, charged my insurance for all the other tests and appointments. Before telling me I'm not eligible. Just doesn't seem right. Proceed with causation and find a facility that will show you the insurance guidelines. Don't waste your time with this program.
