Debra is home and doing fantastic. She had her surgery at 9AM on Wednesday, September 20th. It took about 2 hours. She was released from the hospital at 330PM on Saturday. She hardly ever complained about pain. (I griped continually about how uncomfortable my bed was...she came out of the hospital looking far better than me.) Either she is terribly brave, has a very high tolerance for pain, or was trying to make me think it wasn't too bad so I won't back out on having the surgery myself. All I know is, she was a wonderful patient. The nurses all commented on how well she did. She still loves her surgeon, Dr. Yates, but doesn't have too many good things to say about the hospital. I will let her give all the details. I can just say that she made everything seem really easy and I am still on track to have it done myself. I may move it up to December.

I've heard tonight that Debra is doing remarkably well, so well in fact that she is getting to come home early! Congratulations, Debra!

Hi Debra, My name is Debra Holsomback, I know similar to yours, I go by Debbie H. to keep it simple. I wish you a safe and speedy reovery, My surgery is scheduled for Oct 26th, My birthday is the 24th, so I will have 2 birthdays in the same week. YEA! This is kind of an update... I'm Leigh Ann, Carol's daughter and a friend of Debra's, and I heard from my mother last night that Debrah is recovering nicely. Mom says she's doing really well and that they will be moving her to a new room soon. Hopefully they will be able to get on-line! I will post again as soon as I get some more information!

Debra's surgery went fine today. Debra is in her room and resting now. Carol is there with her, but unable to access the internet from the hospital room. As soon as they have internet access, they will post a detailed update.

I just wanted to let you know that you are in good hand with Dr. Yates. I had my surgery with him on April 12, 2000. So far I have lost about 85lbs. He is highly skilled. Good luck to you and don't be afraid to ask any questions if you don't understand anything.
