Kris- you are one heck of a trooper! And I thought I was having hurdles to jump over! Keep up the positive attitude... it will help in the long run- FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT if you have to. Remember, you are truly worthy of the end result! Mary

Butterflys are a great symbol of WLS patients. Like the caterpillar, we move slowly. We are not particularly attractive - and most of us are a bit round. Soon, we enter the cocoon stage, where we hide from everyone and everything, and EAT and SLEEP. Then, when the time is right, we emerge from the cocoon, spread our wings, and when they are dry, we fly off, seeking summer flowers. I love the analogy, and can't think of a thing that is better. So, first the butterflies in your stomach, and in your thoughts - pretty soon, you will have them in your heart, and you will be so proud of yourself, and feeling darn good, too!" Best of luck. Don't forget to wiggle your new wings. :)

Hi Chris, It's great hearing that your surgery went so well and that you are so upbeat about the next 2 weeks. keep your spirits up--the 2 weeks will fly by. (I hope, b/c my surgery is in 4 weeks)

Hi all! I visited Kris at the hospital today. She wasn't feeling too bad, but was very tired. Due to scarring from previous surgeries, the doctor doesn't want her to eat or drink anything for 2 weeks. So she has like a port in her upper chest and will get nourishment through that. She will have a nurse come to her house everyday to make sure everything is OK. She should be able to go home Friday or Saturday. Despite all this, Kris is very positive and still knows she made the right decision. Could you all go to her page and show her some love! Thank you!
