The list of appropriate foods/liquids that my surgeon provided for the first two weeks is: ice chips or water (48-64 oz per day), sugar-free liquids, including s/f kool-aid, s/f popsicles, s/f crystal light, s/f fudgicles, herbal or decaffeinated tea (no green tea), decaffeinated tea, s/f gelatin, s/f pudding, broths, low fat (1%) or skim milk, V-8 juics, no sugar added carnation instant breakfast, cream of what/cream of rice (made thin or soupy), oatmeal (cooked well, made thin or soupy), mashed potatoes (made smooth and thin with milk), light yogurt (sweetened with artificial sweetener and NO fruit pieces), lowfat cottage cheese (mashed with fork and made smooth), strained soups prepared with low-fat or skim milk. NO carbonated liquids, NO alcohol, NO caffeine.
Hope this helps. And best of luck with your surgery and recovery. Before you know it, you'll be feeling and looking better than you have in years!
