Laurie has had a rough time but is going to be fine. She is still in the hospital. She has had some bleeding and had to have 11 units of blood and been in ICU since Thursday. They have also had her on a ventilator and had her completely sedated. They did try and lower the doses of medication and turned the ventilator off to see how she was going to react. She did open her eyes but was still very out of it and she was moving around, shaking her head and getting stressed so they put the ventilator back on and have her sedated again. Her temp is down to 99. They feel there is no bleeding going on and there is some blood in her drainage tube but nothing they are concerned about. This morning sometime (her sister didn't know WHEN in the morning) they are going to take her off the ventilator and put a filter in for blood clotting. Ya'll please be thinking and saying your prayers in the morning. Laurie is going to be so stressed and worried when she wakes up. When she realizes she has been out for days and all that has been going on. She really needs our positive energy. Her sister is really going to try to be there when Laurie wakes up because she said she can really get Laurie to focus and not have her so stressed. She has had a talk with Clayton and filled him in on all he needs to do if she cannot be there.. Clayton is awesome, he will do just fine. We belong to the same group of friends and all go to a private forum together. We have been following her closely with lots of calls to the hospital. We have on gal the is staying in touch with the family to keep us updated from there. Laurie is such a sweet, funny lady and I hope she comes home soon. I go in the morning to have my VBG done here in Houston so wont be able to keep up on her. Please send her lots of good thoughts and prayers and lets get her home!
