Question:
weightgain during that time of the month

I am 4 months post op(rny). I just wanted to know if it is normal. whenever it's that time of the month, I feel bloated, all puffed up and possibly gain a couple of pounds. I wanted to know whether there are people going through this same thing and what I can possibly do to eliminate this weight gain after my menstrual cycle. I have lost 74 lbs so far and I really feel scared gaining weight that I have lost. please help!!!!!.    — maryann O. (posted on December 26, 2001)

I gain up to 5 lbs before and during my period. It sucks so much, but after my period is over, it looks like I lost 5 lbs! This is normal. We are just more obsessed about gaining and losing now, since our goal is lose, lose, lose! That\'s just something we women have to deal with. :(

Your reproductive system doesn't change with surgery. Why do people keep acting suprised when they gain their monthly water weight? You think you're immune now? It's only natural and it's going to happen!

It's totally normal to gain weight during your period. The reason why I notice it now is because when I was 300 lbs, I didn't own a scale, so I never weighed myself. Now that I'm lighter, I notice it. Definately not in my clothes, but on the scale. It's really no big deal. Comes with being a woman I guess!

Of Course-Thank God. I have been depressed for 3 days thinking I'd gained 10 lbs. I started my period. I never noticed a weight gain before because I avoided the scale like a plague, now I weigh 3 times a week. I feel so much better - thanks for the question.
