Question:
I gotta share... and ask...

Hello All... Five days ago I had liposuction on my thighs/hips/buttocks... Two liters were removed... I went in the hospital at 6am and was out by 1pm... I took pain meds and antibiotics for two days.. I'm wearing the girdle garmet and keeping my legs elevated... taking in fluids... I thought I would feel very 'loopy' and in more pain but I feel like I worked out at the gym too hard and too long... Moving a little slower at times but I feel pretty good... Sorry if I am babbling... I am excited as a kid on Chrsitmas again and I just wanted to share :-) I am a 2 1/2 year post op Open RNY'er... no complications/infections... I was almost 300 lbs and I am 5 foot 11... now 37 years old... I have gone from size 24/26 to 14/16... and still very happy with both my decisions... I have some questions I hope some lipo patients can help me out with... 1) What else can I do to help bring the swelling down? 2) When did you see a noticible change? 3) Did you go down a size in clothing? Thank you all in advance for your feedback... Have a great weekend!!    — California J. (posted on June 7, 2002)

I had lipo on my calves. At 3 weeks, some of the swelling started to go away. I noticed a change in the shape. Based on my research, completed changes can be observed by the sixth month. With them removing two liters, that is a lot, and you will probably lose a pant size. Good Luck to you!
