Yummy, yummy. I too love peanut butter and nanners! I have also switched to the natural peanut. I used to get stange looks when I said I ate peanut butter and banana sandwiches for breakfast. Then I was in the hospital and was put on a diabetic diet. I did not like what they gave me for breakfast so I ask the dietician what my alternative could be and she listed some... I figured out the bread was my 2 starches, the banana my fruit, and peanut butter my meat...add a glass of milk and I had the perfect balanced breakfast! Who knew? My mom did I guess...she the one who introduced me to the awesome combination!

Hi, I love PB and bananas! I can finish a large banana in about 4 days, I cut a quarter of it off, wrap up the end in plastic and save it for the next day. I also only eat the natural PB, it is pretty much just crushed peanuts made smooth, no extra sugar or salt like some prepared kinds. I can eat that with a bit of banana on a crispy 1/2 slice of toast now, earlier post op I would choose a crispy cracker like a triscuit, or no bread/cracker at all sometimes. Go ahead, it is a much better choice than some things. I have heard some people dump on bananas, not me though, I guess you would just have to try and see. Hugs, Kim S. Open RNY Nov.4/02 (-81)

I was allowed Peanut butter at 3 weeks as part of my soft diet, but no bananas until 4 months when we were allowed soft fruits. Check with your doctor.

This sounds gross, but peanut butter and mayonase or merical whip salad dressing, dont knock it till you try it :0) the sweetness or the pb and tartness of the mayo is yummy, try it tell us you what you think. I love pb and nanners too!

I ate BOTH right after WLS with no problems. However the last poster is lucky she can eat Mayo. I'm 21 months post op and mayo (or tarter sauce) still does'nt agree with me. :(

I love peanut butter even just by itself. Unfortunately, I dump on bananas...unless I add about 2 inches of one in a fruit smoothly made with strawberries. Then I don't have too much of a problem.

Denise, Peanut Butter oh Yes !! The good stuff, I would stick with the low-fat version of it, you'll never tell the difference, on the bannana take your time, little bites with that, when I was post op 3 months I couldn't do a bannana now 8 months I'm able to do a little baby one, without dumping...... I'm into strawberries... Best of luck ! Post op 8 months down 115 pounds
