Question:
Does anyone know of some really good plastic surgeons in the NC or SC area ?

Hi, I am ready to begin my journey for plastic surgery after my weight loss of 219lbs. I am wondering if anyone knows of some really good plastic surgeons for the excess skin in the North Carolina or South Carolina area. Any information would be really appreciated. Hi, Sherry. I read your profile and you've done marvelous. My doctor is Dr. Chapman, Dr. MacDonald's colleague. Dr. Chapman sent me to Dr. William Wooden with ECU Plastic Surgery in April for a consult. I need to wait until I've finished losing weight before having my TT, but I loved Dr. Wooden. I think he would be great to have. I also have a friend who is a nurse here at the Surgicenter and she has told me that Dr. Lynn Garrison is great. There is also a girl in our Support Group that used Dr. Howard Dawkins here in Greenville as well and was complimentary of him as well. They are all on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and certified so I think you could be confident in all. Surprised Dr. MacDonald hasn't recommended someone to you that is familiar with gastric bypass patients. I think I'm leaning towards Dr. Wooden since that is who Dr. Chapman recommended, but then again, it may simply be because he is also with ECU. Keep up the great work and let me know how your plastics go.

Drs Glen Strickland and James Givens were my DRs in SC They are with Southern surgical in Columbia .. They were great . I had my surgery March 26 of this year and in 4 months I have lost 74:) Ruthie IN SC

Congrats on the loss!! I went to a presentation given by my support group. The speaker was Dr. Laurie Gunn with Duke University and I was very impressed. She has experience with 'our kind' and was very down to earth and pleasant. She also clearly defined the good and the bad, and gave us realistic expectations. I am only 8 months out and she recommends waiting 2 years, but I am with her when the time comes! Good Luck! Jennifer -160 lbs/8 mos out!

Dr. Donald Conway of the Plastic Surgery Center in Asheville, NC, did my panniculectomy and brachioplasty (armlift). I couldn't be happier with my results! Best wishes :-)
