Question:
Pian and Time to Heal with TT and Breast Lift?

I researched the library before posting, but I am asking for more recent replies. (1) What do you think of having a tt and breast lift at the same time? One PS will do it, another will not. (2) One PS said I need to take 3 wks off for tt, even though I have a desk job. Do you think 3 wks was long enough, or too long? (3)How is the pain with a tt and bl? I am 46, had lap rny, and never had children, so don't know how labor or a c-section compares. What are your comments and suggestions? Thanks    — juvpd (posted on June 17, 2004)

one Dr might have said no because of the time need under anestheica. they dont like you under for more then 3 hours in one shot. 3 weeks is reasonabe amt of time espically if there is muscle work involved.you will need to wear those restritive garments for at least 24/7 for 6 weeks. then 12hours aday if you dont wantfluid build up and a lump site.the longer you wear it the better.i swelled up in flight and it took days for the excess fluid to leave. i was a week post-op at the time. all the best! I had a tt w/ mr and verical incision as well as hip to hip plus breast lift. I am 50. The pain was bad from the tt, not the BL. I was in surgery 6 hours. My results are a totally flat tt ( size 3) and the perkiest boobs I've ever had. I am 7 weeks post op and still wearing my post op garment at work (RN)I was off 9 days. 6 weeks light duty. Any more questions.feel free to email me.

I had a full torso lift on Monday and if it weren't for all of the drains, I could have worked half days today and Fri. I can't believe how good I feel, or maybe the drugs are that good, but I feel great. Sitting down and gettin up are uncomfortable, but once I am there I am good. I am thinking of going back Weds if the drains are out.

I'm 41. Had LBL, BL, and Inner Thigh lift at the same time. I was in surgery for 6.5 hours. I had almost no pain with the BL or ThL (until one thigh got an infection). The majority of the pain was the Lower Body Lift (TT). I was out of work 5.5 weeks but 4 weeks was enough for me. It could be because I got the thigh infection at 2.5 weeks that it took me longer. Most of what I've heard is 3 weeks recovery. Also, I have a boatload of sick time and so I took advantage of taking the time to fully heal before going back. I'm now at 1/2 time for 3 weeks. I have a desk job, never had children, had Open RNY. The recovery from plastics was much more difficult than RNY mostly because I was bent over for almost 3 full weeks and those drains - oy vay! what a pain in the patootie. Good luck to you!

Just speaking from my experience...I had a tt, breast lift and augmentation and hernias repaired. I was under for almost 10 hours (which they were concerned with, but decided was ok) and took just under 2 weeks off from my desk job. I can say that the biggest pain was the drainage tubes...not a real physical pain, just a pain in the you know what! There is no way to compare the surgery to WLS, not for me anyway....as being almost 200 lbs. less makes recovery much easier! Good Luck to you!
