Question:
Has anyone got Sagamore Plus insurance and gotten a panniculectomy covered?

I have lost 190 pounds and have an apron, I would like to have removed. I called my insurance and they said I would have to prove it was medically necessary and have to surgeon recommendations. I would like to talk to anyone that has Sagamore and has gotten this surgery, to find out what I need to know....    — kristaz (posted on November 17, 2004)

Krista, I have Sagamore Plus,lost 115lbs, and they paid for my panni. I used Dr Pulcini in Evansville, IN. He wrote a letter of medical necessity. I had a hernia and rashes as well as lower back pain. It was easier to get them to pay for the panni then the WLS. Janet
