No you are not losing slow. You are losing how your body wants to. I was down around 80 lbs at 4 months but I started at 442 and had 242 lbs to lose, so in reality you are way ahead of me based on what you likely need to lose. I never had any huge losses like some but I was a consistent loser and that totaled up just as nice in the end. I consistently lost an average of 20 lbs for the first 10 months. I was down 227 lbs by 12-3/4 months when I had PS. I came out of PS 2 lbs under goal. So trust me it will all work out. Just follow your program, learn the important new relationships with food and eating and enjoy your new healthy life. It's just going to continue to get better and better.

You are doing GREAT! I am 5'2 and started out at 244. I had lap RNY on 11/24/03/ I am now done 72 lbs and went from a size 22 to a size 12. Sometimes the weight seems to come off faster than other times but as long as I am losing I don't care. My surgeon was very pleased with my weight loss as I am already over half way to goal! Keep up the good work and you will get to goal sooner than you think.

That is in the high average range of loss. You're probably not going to keep losing 20 pounds a month, It should take you a year to lose all your weight at least. If it takes less, great but plan on at least a year,

use the weight loss planner , and put in for a loss of 50% of your start weight, as long as youre meeting those numbers , youre doing fine ! i am a kind of slow loser, but im happy with it , i have lost 81 lbs at 6 months, and for my height, 5ft6 , that puts me in the slow loser category, but , while i sometimes wish i was losing faster, little things make me so happy about my weight, its not as big a deal as it was even a couple of months ago , i like my new body , i like not having triple or even a double chin , and yeah , while it annoys me at times, i even like my flabby tummy, cause its not full of fat anymore ! and thats a good thing !!! slow losing is ok, in the grand scheme of things, you just know that you have to work harder than some, and in the end , you will appreciate your effort more than if it came "easy" good luck ! I thought the same thing. I am only 4'11 and weighed 218 when i went for surgery (11/25/03). I am 5 1/2 mths post op and am down 60 pounds, current weight is 158. I feel awesome and the doc told me to take it slow, it didn't get put on in a few months and it isnt all going to come off in a few months. Just keep doing what your doing and it will all work out in the end.

Yes, you are worrying for nothing! I had my surgery 2 days after you (1-9-04) and have only lost 51 lbs to date. I started out at 252 at 5'4" tall. As long as the scale continues to move in the right direction I wouldn't be too concerned. You are doing great, keep up the good work! Angela
