Question:
Are any of you having problems with thier protein mix.

My protein mix has been giving me problems with clumping on top of the liquid. I never had this problem before and have not been drinking it because it is disgusting this way. Any suggestions?    — adrift20 (posted on February 16, 2009)

Are you by any chance using hot water? I haven't experienced it myself but, some protein mixes don't "play" well with hot water, but do just fine with cold or ice water. Marti in San Jose

I am not using hot water, am using cold or room temperature. I always did it this way but now am having problems with it.

I have the same issue. With all of my drinks. I only use it with cold as well I haven't tried to use it with hot. It settles on the top of my Carnation Good Start and my Apple Juice. It must be with thin liquids because it mixes just fine when I make Smoothies for my boyfreind. I just have a straw with my drink so that I can mix as I drink. Because it is gross...

Some brands of protein powder have this clumping issue. Trying to use a Magic Bullet on some protein powders cause them to "foam" to an excess, causing you gas. Try using a small kitchen wisk--the type that have long rounded wire components. These are commonly used for blending sauces or gravies. This is the best way I know to mix protein powders. I have a generic whey isolate protein powder I use several times a week, that I mix with SF Jello pudding, using the wisk I mentioned. I found a really small one, about 5-6 inches long, at Linens and Things recently, only about $2 too. DAVE

I've been using an electric hand blender for 5 years! I love it and use it daily for my protein. It rinses off in hot water and stores right in a kitchen drawer! Here's what use for HOT or COLD protein and mixed drinks...It's been priceless to me...Makes my hot protein coffee with an awesome natural foam on top just like a coffee shop. http://www.foodnetworkstore.com/p-206387--_White-Quick-Prep-Hand-Blender.aspx

I use a blender first thing in the morning to mix the days protein mixes. I usually mix up 3 scoops and 3 cups of soy mild. Then I let it sit for 10 min or so. Next I pour it into a small water bottle and take it with me whether it is around the house or in the car. I also find that in sipping from the bottle I do not gulp as I would from a mug.

I mix my drinks in the bullet. Worth every penny. I mix with no fat milk and a scoop of ice. Makes it taste like a shake.

I have been mixing my dry protein mix with a small portion of no-fat no-sugar chocolate pudding and as long as I thoroughly mix it I can't even tell the protein mix is in it.

I use the UNJURY products available online and the mix well with little or no lumping. They do make a chicken soup flavor tht is very sensitive, but other than that I add them to a water bottle, shake and drink...no lumps. Easy! Good luck.

Yes...Virginia had the best answer here. The **Magic Bullet** This thing is worth it's weight in gold. It will mix anything perfectly.
