Water goes right through you so you can drink lots. I wouldnt worry about water. At 3 weeks out I was eating about 1/4 cup of soft foods. I couldnt eat more than that if I tried. I am not only up to 1/2 to 3/4 cup now of food and I am 5 mts out. (That is solid food). I am sure you are doing fine. Keep up the good work.

I am a few days away from you and I can also drink more than a few sips. Although not my carnation instant breakfast ( yuck). Good luck.

I has gastric bypass December of 2005. In November 2006 and 140 lbs down, I found out I was expecting twins. I was told that I had pcos and would need fertility treatments to concieve (dont believe that.......I did not). Anyhow the pregnancy stretched my outlet, not the pouch and I noticed I could eat more and/or the food and beverages were going right through me. After a few months I went to my surgeon out of concern and she sent me for an endoscopy too look at everything. It is rare but this can happen and it did to me. I had a great surgeon and she is fixing the problem for me. So my point is that it is probably normal what you are going through but if this continues, I would check it out because it could be something.

I had RNY back in August 2008, and I can drink tons of liquid. Just don't do it at meal time. If you have to have something thing only take a tiny sip. Good luck

I wouldn't worry too much about the amount of liquids. Just don't gulp. I would try to limit food to no more than 1/2 cup at this point. That amount will increase. If you have to have a drink with a meal just a sip or two.
