Question:
Is there any support groups in Tulsa, OK for post-op patients?

I had my gastric bypass out of town and I really need a support group here in Tulsa. I called some here and they won't have anything to do with me because I didn't have my surgery with them. All I want to do is talk to other people that understand. The place I had my surgery is 100 miles away and it is very hard to make their meetings. Any suggestions on who wouldn't mind me attending their group even though Im not their patient?    — okbuffy (posted on February 15, 2009)

Congratulations on your surgery. It takes a lot of support from friends and family to even have this surgery much less go 100 miles away. I think that the support group that you were attempting to go shouldn't do what they said, they are not really a support group, because a true support group accepts everyone that has had weight loss surgery and helps them through the process. I believe that this site is as much a support group as a local one. You have many people from all over to help you, in all stages of weight loss. I post a blog that shows my progress and you are always welcome to check it out. www.kerrijenkins.blogspot.com. Have a blessed day. PS. my parents are from Tulsa.
