The 2 codes which are generally used are 43843 and 43659.

A helpful bit of information I found is have you Dr. NOT state the surgery as a lapband only as "Weight loss surgery other than VGB." along with the cpt code. Some insurance companies don't want to cover the band because they consider it "experimental". Good luck. Mary

43659 unlisted laparoscopic procedure on stomach, is what most doctors offices use. There is no specific CPT code to describe the Lap Band.
