Question:
How long before restriction?

I was banded on 12/21/05. I have the large VG band and have had 2 fills. I have 5-1/2 cc. When will I get restriction? This is very discouraging.    — ettaj1959 (posted on February 15, 2006)

I have the Vanguard also and had no restriction until my first fill of 3cc last week. everyone is differant so my doc says and somepeople have restriction without a fill. i cant imanage that...but i can feel the differance this week with the 3cc. some people also take a while for the fill to kick in. when was your 2nd fill done? for some it takes between 3-5 fills to get to their sweet spot. some 2, some none. it is true that the first few months after banding can be difficult--patience is vital. some refer to this time as 'banding pergatory" ...as you are to eat well, but not having the full effect of the tool. don't stress it now--by next year you won't care so much about how you got there--just that you got there. good luck!
