Question:
Has anyone been approved for plastic surgery--TRICARE--?

Thats a great question I have ChampVA and wonder what it will cover when the time comes.

I had Tricare as primary for my wls, and when it came time for my tt, they would not approve it. I went through 2 full appeals and they would not help me at all. We changed insurances after my husbands retirement and job change and BCBS helped me out there. HOWEVER, my friend, who also had Tricare as primary had a small hernia, and got approved the first time for her hernia repair with TT. You have to ask for it, and sometimes they help,other times they won't budge. Take care. Patricia P.

That is a wonderful question! I would love it if you could let me know if you get an answer. I talked to my PCM and she told me that if you have problems (rashes, skin irritation) with your overlapping skin that Tricare will approve you. I have yet to have my surgery, but it would help if I knew the answer to your question. Thanks so much...
