Fiber one cereal is a tasty snack to stay regular(not the flakes but the pellet looking one!) And magnesium oxide is wonderful or for bad constipation Milk of Magnesia (mom!) I take magnesium citrate capsules daily for a magnesium deficiency and when I don't take them or forget...I get backed up myself! I take magnesium supps daily and rarely have any trouble anymore...even with the high doses of iron I take! So any of those things should help...

Hi. MiraLax is good (over-the-counter tasteless powder, mix in with anything), as well as adult glycerin suppositories. As always, get doctor's approval. Hope this helps. Blessings, Mary

Fiber One has a pretty good tasting pink lemonade. It's become my best friend in those times-- usually a couple of bottles will do it for me. Special K also has a new drink mix with both protein and fiber, but I haven't tried it yet.

Try Smooth-Move Tea. I heard about it at my support group and it is great. You can buy it at supplement stores (Super Supplement), but I have also found it at a couple grocery stores with the herbal teas. It is an herbal tea, and the longer you brew it (let the tea bag sit in the hot water), the stronger it is. There are two flavors. The natural flavor is a licorice flavor (which I don't care for), but the other is chocolate flavor (although it doesn't taste like a strong chocolate - very mild) and is very good. I put a very small amount of splenda in it. It will not give you diarrhea, but instead just very soft bowel movements. Drink it at bedtime, and usually by morning or shortly thereafter you are able to go. If you are constipated, it may take 2-3 cups over 24 hour period, but if you drink it at bedtime every night it will keep you regular.

I use a daily stool softener to keep regular. Otherwise I get stopped up bad. Once you get a little further on and can eat a wider variety of things try to eat things high in fiber as well as protien. Fiber one is a really good source. The smooth move tea is also really good.

I went through a period of that problem and I used the beneful fiber that is clear and tatsteless when it dissolves. I put it in my koolaid or crystal light that I drink. I looked into the prunes that are flavored and come in a pack but I felt the sugar content was to high so I ended up not using them and instead did the beneful powder. I was very pleased with how it works, I did not taste it and it was not gritty. I very seldom ever have the need for fiber supplements now that I am a few months out. Good luck!!!
