You really need to go with what your doctor wants you to eat or drink. I was on straight liquids when I was one week out. I did not go to blended foods until I was at 2 weeks out and yes it does get old but it will change soon. You need to let your baby pouch heal and that is why you are on full liquids.

I have not had my surgery yet. But 3 years ago when my mom had RNY. She was on liquids for 5wks. She was drinking chicken/beef broth like a mad woman. Yeah she did get really sick of it but it does just depend on what your doctor says and how your body feels.. My mom's doctor said 2wks liquids, but when it came to soft foods her body wasnt ready. Hope everything works out :)

Each Doctor has their own protocal and they are all differant. You went to the doctor of your choice because you trucsted him (I hope). He/She has her reasons for the protocal that is demanded. I suggest you do what your doctor advises and not what a bunch of lay-men are telling you. If you are to drink only liquids for 3 weeks, then do it. Stay on the path that your doctor put you on.

Beth, I am almost 9 weeks out and cottage cheese is still one of my staple foods...those individual packs ( come 4 packed together ) are a great meal for me...when I can , I also add a small applesauce and it helps fill me up more.....I eat almost all the cc first for protein and then applesauce... And don't forget it is only for a few weeks for the rest of our lives...we can do it and I wish you great luck....

Diets very, so ask your doctor, but usually you are on clear liquds for a while, and then go to regular liquids, which include yogurt.

Beth, Check with your doctor as to what constitutes a liquid diet. On clear liquids, it is usually things like broth, water, and jello, but on regular liquids, you can usually have pudding, cream soups, and yogurt. so make sure you have a list from the nurse or nutritionsit, or go online and do a search for it.
