Have you been scoped? Actually, we usually don't vomit for "no reason". What are you eating/dirnking? Have you tried doing without any milk? Then no sugar at all (read labels carefully), and not just no sugar added. Usually sugar causes the D, and milk is the worst offender for many of us.

When I had this problem the doctor had to dilate the opening between my stomach and small intestine because scar tissue formed. You might see if they can do an endoscopy. I would look up a GI doctor pronto.

It sounds like you may have developed ulcers. That's what happened to me. As with you, I stayed nauseous all the time, and would vomit often. Do you have alot of acid, burning or reflux as well? If so, this would indicate ulcers. And ulcers will eventually lead to the stoma, or pouch outlet, closing up completely. So, I agree with the other's responses, see about getting "scoped", or insist that your doctors do something about this (if you do have ulcers, they can prescribe medicine to treat the ulcers and the nausea). Like Michelle stated, we do not throw up for no reason. Good luck to you.

Kim, I have a totally different answer for you. I was also sick for the first 4 months or so. I did not have a narrowed stoma, ulcers, etc. and i was miserable ! I frequently vomited, diarrhea,..... Anyway I started keeping a log of everything I was eating and how much. Finally figured out which foods caused me trouble and which ones didnt. I am just VERY intolerant of certain foods now. I am now 10 months post op with zero vomiting, nausea, or diarrhea !!!! Good luck

hi kim. my heart went out to u when i read ur post so i am writing to let u know that i am 4 mos post op & i still have food & pouch issues. i get nauseous, eat too fast & the food gets stuck, eat too much because i am not paying attention to how much i am eating & get sick, can tolerate a particular food today & not next week etc etc etc. i dont think any of this is 'not normal' because most of the time i do fine & because i do fine most of the time i dont feel that i have a stricture or blockage. try altering ur eating habits if u feel that may be ur problem. if after a day or two u still dont feel any better then i suggest u contact ur surgeon, if u havent done so already.
