Has anyone been able to find the Detour bars in Oklahoma? I have looked everywhere I can think to look and can't find them. Thanks for the help.    — karen B. (posted on April 2, 2003)

Any health food store in your local mall should have them. My gym carries them also. They cost about $3.00.

The Detour Bars are at GNC's and Vitamin Shoppe's all over the country. If you want to order them online, one of the best deals is at http://www.vitaglo.com Free shipping on orders over $50...JR (open RNY 07/17/03 -167 lbs)

Thanks. I have looked at 2 different GNC stores and a couple of healthfood stores here in OKC and can not find them. Was looking for more specific locations that someone might have found them at. I do not want to ask for a special order on something that I may only buy one of.

Karen, if you just want to try one I have a whole box of them at home that I will not be eating. I do not care for them and couldn't find one in a store so I ordered a whole box thinking I would like them. So, if you want to try one I'll send you one. Just send me an email and I'll get it in the mail to you.

I live in Moore and the health food store on 74th and south Penn has them. There cost 2.50 there. But I just ordered a box of the Detour and u-turn bars online, I love both of them!! And it was actually cheaper online even with shipping.

You mentioned not being able to find them at GNC, but did you ask them if they'd order them? Right now they have them on sale for $21.90 AND they're buy one box get one box free. I have found the best deals at GNC and I've looked on the web for prices from other places. PLUS...at GNC, if you don't like it, you can take it back. That could get costly if a website offers that but you have to pay for S&H. Just my 2 cents... good luck

A caveat about the GNC - some GNC's are corporate ones and others are franchises. I know that someone in our support group that lives in south Jersey went to her local GNC and found the great price and the buy one, get one free and other support group members tried other GNC's in the Phila/south Jersey area and they hadn't even heard of the promotion...JR

I found a smaller version of the Detour bar this morning in Rite-Aid Pharmacy. It's the 15g protein version, the bar weighs 1.4 oz. It's 160 calories, 13g carbs but only 7 g net carbs, and 5 g of sugar. The regular ones are so big, most of us can't eat one at a sitting. However, it was no great deal, it cost $1.99. I only have them occasionally as a treat.

Instead of buying the "mini" Detour bar (didn't even know that they made one), break the big one in half. At 8 1/2 months, that's what I do...JR
