Question:
Anyone have trouble with UHC PPO covering a TT?

I have seen a plastic surgeon last wee, I have an incisional hernia and am trying to combine it with an abdominalplasty. UHC says shouldn't be much of a problem since they did cover WLS last year and understand I am only half way thru this journey. However surgeons office says they don't have a high sucess rate with any Ins and to wait at least 12 weeks to see if possible approval. I told them I was approved for WLS in 6 days. They did take pics and have 2 other Docs info, should I also be writing up a letter of my own? Any suggestions to help speed this up, my hernia is uncomfortable and liked to have it all done before the weather turns hot and the rashes really start to get out of control. Thanx much. Hi. A hernia with symptoms is reason to get a quick approval. Extra skin with a chronic (documented) rash/skin problem aslo should speed things up. I have had good luck with UHC here in Texas and usually get previously documented, medically needed things approved within the month.

I previously had UHC, they approved my RNY in about 3 weeks, I was told by my doctor and several others they are a little harder when it comes to PS, get everything you can documented. The more reasons you have to get it, the better chance they will approve!
