Question:
2 Weeks postop...Eating too much?

I am exactly 2 weeks postop...my surgeons instructions was 6 liquid meals a day no more than 4 to 6 oz per meal..I've been eating jello, cream soup, yogurt, etc.....my question is...I've read several responses and they seem to be eating less than me..for instance 1 person said she eats 1 oz to 2 oz a meal and another said they can't eat more than a couple bites at a time, even yogurt...I know I'm only on a liquid diet but I have no problem keeping down a whole yogurt cup(5.5 oz)....any concerns out there on where I'm headed?....I expect to be fuller when I get to soft foods next week....just making sure(I've lost 16lbs in weeks so I guess thats good)    — Debora H. You are doing fine. I am almost 5 weeks post op and had the same worry. Liquids are much easier to have more of especially when eaten slow. They move through your system easily. Once you add some solids, you will see a big difference in how much of those you can eat.

I had the exact same worries, I could eat anything..nothing makes me sick. And sometimes i felt i was eating too much. I had my surgery sept 22 and have lost 90lbs. Just listen to your body, it will let you know if you have ate to much.

How much you can eat also depends on the type of surgery you had. In my opinion from what I have learned, people who have had the fobi procedure eat less than those who had the rny w/out the fobi. DS patients I think can eat a little more than the two as well. I think you are doing fine. A wonderful job. You chose your surgeon for a reason, believe in him and his instructions. Your doing wonderful. Congrats on the wl.
