I am one month post op today. I haven't had a very good time. I have only been able to get out of bed for the past 6 days... All I could do was lie in bed in total pain the first two weeks home. I really just wanted to die! But at 3 weeks post op I had lost 43 pounds. This past 5 days I have only lost 2 pounds. But I think that is normal. I am male, 6'6" tall and checked in the hospital weighing 343 pounds. As of yesterday I am down to 299 which actually looks pretty good on someone my size, but my goal was to loose a total of 100 pounds, and not much more than that. I don't want to be "too slim" and yes there is a thing as being too slim. But this is my 2nd surgery.... I had a similar one 25 years ago when I was just 18 years old and weight 300 at that time. I lost 100 pounds then and kept it off for about 15 years. The past 10 year I slowly gain it all back but the new Dr. said that was common with the previous procedure I had. So now I lost 40 pounds in only a month, I expect the other 60 won't go nearly as fast. Almost the same thing happened with the first surgery.

April, I am also 4 months post-op as of last wed. I am 5'5" and weighed 306 day of surgery. As of 3-15-03, (the last time I weighed myself) I was at 243, which makes it a weight loss of 63 lbs. I think you are doing fine. Keep up the good work. Cinde Shaw
