Question:
5'4

Hi - doubt and uncertainty here again. I'm 5'1", started at 227 and hoping to make it down to 133 or less. My concern is my BIG OL' fat thighs. I just can't imagine them EVER being a normal shape when i do make it to goal. i'd like to hear from other women 5'4" and under starting at 240 or less to find out HOW DO YOUR LEGS LOOK NOW? Can you wear shorts or bathing suits? Will you need plastic surgery to even them out? The last time i lost weight (and got down to 178), i had this big "dent" in my leg about mid-thigh (which i still have, but it's not as pronounced because it's filled in somewhat with fat) that i was very self-conscious of. Don't get me wrong - i will be so happy to be at goal, healthy, thinner, etc. But i have covered and hid myself all my life, and want to know if i have any shot at all of achieving a somewhat "normal" body shape without plastic surgery. P.S. - my highest weight ever was 240, but i've ranged between 180 and 220 most of my adult life. Thanks! (227.6/200.2/133.0)    — sweetmana (posted on August 16, 2003)

I'm 5'3-1/2", 39 y.o., and have always had very large thighs and legs (especially calves). One of the things about my 110lb. weight loss (in 11 months)with which I've been pleasantly surprised, is how much my legs have strunk with NO sagging skin. Mind you, I started at 8 weeks out in a regular exercise program (weights and cardio), but I'm astounded when I try on new clothes that the thighs always fit when the waist may be too tight. The sooner you can begin exercising (and really sweating), the better you'll be in getting those thighs smaller.

I am 5'3" and weighed 238 to start my journey, I had the biggest thighs and bottom. I always hoped that i would have nice slender legs one day. well I am 15 months post op and weigh in at 116 - 118 my legs are totally skinny! at 45 i look like i have kids legs! boney and skinny haha, but i will take these over where i came from. the stretch pants i wear don't even have to stretch no more, yes you can have skinny legs I worked those out the most i guess in my exercise routine. and i don't have to have any plastic surgery. i am happy with my body at the great age of 45. my progession of pictures are on my profile even showing those skinny legs! best wishes on your journey!!

Hi, I am 5'2.5 and weigh about 110 lbs. I am a year out and my legs look pretty good. I still need to exercise for firmness but am fairly happy. Oh, I am 25. 212/110/108

I have found that a 2 piece bathing suit with boy legs in the pant and spandex or the like work well.. I have a tank type top with a racer back. Also I found a great sheer pair of "shorts" coverup on Newport News. They hide a multitude of flesh that is not very appealing to look at. I started at 328.. So I know all about hanging flesh.
