Question:
I have been able to eat just about anything without it making me sick is this normal?

I am 2 weeks and 3 days post-opt. I am still using the blender on foods like meat and noodles. I have had no food intolerances and some have been amazed I can eat the things I do. Example i eat beef and noddles, ham and cabbage, eggs with cheese, things like that. Very small amounts of course but nothing makes me sick.    — kyad7 (posted on October 16, 2000)

I think you are doing fine. Many may be amazed that you're eating those foods so soon, however, I did the same thing as my doc seems to fast-track us onto foods. I am over 6 months postop RNY, and I've never thrown up. Now, I did get "dumping" on several things early on such as sweet n sour sauce and regular yogurt (too much sugar) and once I ate a big hunk of cheese alone (too much fat). The foods you said you're eating sound good for you with the protein in them. You may find, if you try sugar or fat items, that you do have a reaction such as severe abdominal cramping (sometimes delayed by an hour or so), diarrhea, etc. I don't suggest it - although you didn't mention which surgery you had. Keep up the good work - chew well, eat while relaxed, eat small amounts. Best wishes on a great weight loss!

I want to emphasize the chew well part (when you stop using the blender. I am 5 weeks post op and have not had any food make me sick. Today I did vomit for the second time since my surgery and am still trying to figure out how this big hunk of ham snuck down my throat. I sometimes take normal bites, but am real careful to chew everything well. Guess I wasn't paying enough attention. I even have a 2 - ounce serving of Ice cream from time to time. I am counting my blessings that I do not get ill.
