Question:
Anyone had WLS with one insurer and TT with another?

Had WLS 2.5 years ago with one insurer but was denied the TT. Now I have a new insurer and want to pursue it again. Any suggestions on how to go about it? Do I change doctors? Do I tell them about my previous denial? What kind of paper trails should I start? Can the new insurance company find out about my denial if I don't tell them? Any other suggestions would be really appreciated!!!    — Robby E. (posted on September 15, 2004)

Hello, I had my wls w/ Kaiser and my tt & armlift with NCAS. There is no need for you to give them any of the previous information simply because each company has their own set of guidelines. Call them and find out how what surgeons are within their network and if you need a referral. Remember that some insurance companies follow a protocol of denying the initial request for any surgery..don't get discouraged. Good luck Michelle :)
