I would like to know about this too!!! Some people say water aerobics help in toning up the skin... but I have not tried it and don't know the answer. I will be anxious to see what others have to say on this.

I asked my Surgeon this also and he told me it will depend alot on your age and how much weight you lose. He also told me if I keep my protein levels high it will help to regain your skin tone.

It depends on your age and how much weight you lose. I had lost 280 pounds and had a huge panni. I had to have a tummy tuck, but, it was an awesome surgery and I love the new look.

I'm 44 years old and have lost 125 of the 190 I hope to lose. I have lots of skin hanging. It hurts to see it, however it beats the fat! I think alot of it depends on your age and how long you've been overweight. I think most of us will need surgery to tighten the skin but I doubt to many of us will be lucky enough to have insurance cover it. I hope I'm wrong on both of them. ;)

Okay I am almost 3 years postop and exercise (walking mostly) everyday. I went from 280 to 119 today and am 43 years old. Yes, I have hanging skin. Not horrible like 2 years ago, but hanging nontheless. It definately firms up some with time but, I still have wings to fly on my arms and the kids get a good laugh from those and, I have alot of extra skin on my tummy and guess what? I didn't even carry my weight in my tummy. It was my butt and legs. The first year, my butt just sagged going from a size 26 to a size 4 but I just noticed the other day, that I kindof now, have a cute butt. It firmed up alot and so did my legs. Not that they are great looking still cause there is still extra skin but, they are wayyyy better than 2 years ago. So, do you sag, yeah probably so. Will you need surgery? Well, age and distribution of the skin makes a difference as well as how much you don't like the look of yourself naked. I finally got used to it. Oh...by the way, my breasts never came back....basically just skin there....it's really hard trying to find a bra to fit me. Being that I don't know any of you personally, I will be honest here..basically, you can almost fold up my boobs in a bra. Not a pretty site! hehehe. Good luck to you.
