Question:
If I have a rash below my apron.

If I have a overhang from my stomach BUT it ISNT big at all. I have a terrible rash below it where the skin must rub while I am sitting at work because it doesnt rub when I walk because it isnt that big, will I still be approved for reconstructive skin removal? Any input would be appreciated.    — Lisa J. (posted on February 23, 2003)

Document, document, document. Have your derma or PCP make a note that it is a yeast infection. Have your chiro document your bad posture.

"A picture is worth a thousand words". We submit a picture as well as written documentation for tummy tuck authorization, it is a standard practice with plastic surgeons. If your rash becomes chronic i.e., you have tried medicated ointments etc, and the excess skin contributes to that rash it is now a medical necessity and is not considered cosmetic. Even if there is not very much skin when you stand. The key is it contributes to the rash when you sit and you can't avoid sitting during your normal daily activities.
