Question:
Where does the anchor incision end?

I have a consult with a PS next month and am trying to get my info together. I have been hearing about an anchor incision a lot lately. I was wondering if that means that you are cut from hip to hip and then up to the breast bone, or are you cut up to the belly button. I have a lot ot excess skin and want to get an idea of what I am in for. My inner thighs also look like the elphant lady, lots of folds!!!! I keep hearing about the thigh lift, but I think I will need more that just the panty line cut. Has anyone been cut going down the thigh also? Any info or pictures would be GREAT!!! Val, my anchor incision runs from breast to pubic area and from hip to hip. My belly button was replaced. Very large incision but not all that noticable over a year later. I do have pics, but they are right after surgery and you'll need a strong stomach to view. if you would like to see them e-mail me at [email protected]

I, too, had the anchor incision from below the boob to the pubic bone then hip to hip, I also had a breast lift so I have incisions under each breast. I had a lot of scaring from the open surgery plus 2 laps due to complications, now I have one skinny incision.

I have the anchor incision too. Back of hip to back of hip, then breast bone to pubic bone. I had an armlift as well and also had some excess skin on the outside of my breasts removed. Those scars would make it look like i had a breast lift, but, i didn't (i need one!). These scars are much thinner than my original rny scar. That's the difference between a surgeon and a plastic surgeon. This time I had internal stiches and dermabond super glue!

I am cut 360 degrees above the pubic area then have the vertical anchor incision and now also am cut 360 degrees just under the breasts or just above the lower bra edge. This many incisions was needed to get off all the excess skin on my midsection and to remove the saddlebags. I still need leg skin removed and it will entail an I or anchor incision from groin to knee to accomplish the best possible result. If I do my arms ever it will be an incision from armpit to elbow. To me it's not worth going through the time and pain of PS unless you are going to end up with the best possible result. If you want some pics of the LBL and anchor incisions, e-mail me.
