Question:
Has anyone had a problem with a bad odor after having a tummy tuck?

My drains we're hurting really bad so my Dr. took them out. I had drainage coming out of me and and it had a very bad odor and was turning green. When I went back to see the Dr. he told me that I had to have a revision because a infection had set in. Well 48 hrs. after my second surgery the odor came back. It's strong enough to knock you off your feet. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what's wrong with me? The smell is so ba that I won't even go outside.    — Brigit B. I would call your doctor again. Usually foul smelling and green or yellow colored drainage indicates infection.

i had bad body odor after after I had surgery. i didn't have any of the bad drainage problems. I think it has to do with the anesegia (sp)coming through your skin. I didn't even want the doctor or nurse to get too close because of the smell hahaha!! i hated to go to the bathroom because it smell so bad. But just like the last post said you may need to see the doctor. i also had the smell after I had my RNY surgery. the smell lasted for about two weeks. I bath often to keep it down.

I agree with the FIRST poster... foul odor from any drainage indicates infection. Call first thing in the morning (Yes, on Sunday.) Good Luck, to you. JK, RN
