Question:
Motorola - Has any had approval for reconstructive (tummy tuck) through Motorola insurance?

I saw my surgeon and he feels I should have a tummy tuck, however he doesn't think my insurance may cover it. I started at 260 lbs, and am 9 months post op, down to 145, and taking size 6-8 in clothes. He said that back problems would not qualify, and that I could set up a payment system with his office. However, I want to see an actual Plastic surgeon to see what his opinion is. I feel this should be covered by my insurance, who has been great to deal with. I have not dealt with any issues from them, so I really want to to if I qualify and if it would be approved before paying out of my own pocket. Can anyone recommend a PS in the north suburbs of the Chicago area?    — rosemary I. (posted on February 11, 2001)

Hi, my PS surgeon, (who did my abdominoplasty and liposuction), was Dr. Jay Pensler from Northwestern University. I will see him again after I've reached my ideal weight. His email address is: [email protected] do let him know that I recommended you. His office is downtown which at the time was more convenient for me. Dr. Izquierdo who is also board certified, performed my breast reduction surgery, he was referred by Humana HMO and was completely covered. He was a wonderful surgeon (good looking too) and I would recommend him for anything. Good luck in your quest, and please let us all know how things turned out.

I had my TT on 10th Dec. My insurance approved it. From the time my doctors office sent in the photo's to the time I had the phone call to say I had been approved, it was about two weeks.
