Donna, I am not sure what the best is out there but I have been eating EAS Advant Edge (carb control nutrition bar) its the chocolate chip brownie YUMMMY...its got 6g fat, 20g carbs, & 25g protien owe and only 1g sugar...

I also try to avoid the bars with too many carbs. I have settled on the EAS Advantage Apple Cinnamon or Lemon Cheesecake, Carb Solutions Chocolate Toffe Hazelnut, or ANY Atkins Advantage low carb bars EXCEPT the fruity flavored ones - blech!

I've got to agree with the others here and say that EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control bars are the best out there as far as the grams of protein, low carbs, and decent taste. You may find other bars taste somewhat better, but read the labels and see the levels of carbs, fat, and calories go much higher than the EAS ones. I like the Blueberry and Apple Cinnamon flavors.

I have tried a lot of bars and my very favorite (tastes like a real candy bar) is The Atkins Advantage bar in Pralines and Cream...Try it...

Everyone has such different taste, what one person likes, others hate (I for one can't stand those Detour bars, other people swear by them) My personal pick is the Pure Protein. 170 cal, 21g protein, 2g sugar, 2-3g carb (depending on the flavor) They are also a small manageable size. Good luck and hope you find one you like! Renee D

The Atkins Advantage are the only ones I have been able to consistently stomach since surgery (almost 2 years ago). They have recently improved the flavors and textures of most of them, although I actually prefer the old chocolate coconut to the new. Now at least there are several tolerable flavors. The flavors I like are: chocolate coconut, chocolate mocha crisp, S'mores, and pralines and cream. I need to try the cinnamon one, but the old one grossed me out so I have been putting it off. I liked the inside of the cookies and cream flavor, but I didn't like the coating. (But then I don't like white chocolate flavors so if you do it may taste fine to you--I'd eat regular oreos without the cream filling LOL) These are a good size, too. Most times I can't eat the whole bar at once. If you catch a sale, they are pretty reasonably priced and you can find them cheaper at WalMart than at the grocery store.<p>Just a note on the sugar-free stuff. Sometimes they make me dump. I'm not sure why but in particular the Carb Solutions bars caused dumping although they were labelled sugar free (and judging by the taste they were). Just buy one bar at a time until you are sure you can tolerate them well.

You have to be very careful. Adkins and other "low Carb" protien bars quote impact carbs. The EAS bar I had yesterday said 2 g carb, when it really had 20 but inly 2 impact carbs, what ever that means. The EAS has only one gram of sugar and it tastes like it too Yuk!!!! I really like the zone bars. Thay have 210 cal 7-9g fat, 22g carbs and 16g protein. They taste great I like the Strawberry yogart and the fudge graham. They may have alittle less protein but that are great tasting. They fallow a healthy 40-30-30 percent division.

I bought Carb Solutions (Chocolate Cappuccino Crisp) and it is delicious!! It has 0 grams of sugar, 2 grams of carbohydrates, has 240 calories and 26 grams of protein.
