Question:
Does anyone know if the restaurants in Disney World honor the cards given by Doctors

Hi I just got back from Disney a few days ago. I can't answer your question about the restaurant card because I never have used one. But I can tell you how we ate. We went to all major parks and we did a lot of meal-splitting. The portions are pretty big and the prices are kind of steep so it helped in 2 ways. You can always call ahead to see if they honor the card. I know that you can call ahead for arrangements for special dietary needs. And be aware about the water. It is so nasty down there. I was planning on refilling my water bottle from the fountains. No way!! We ended up spending $150-$180 for 4 days of water bottles at $2.50 a bottle!! Yikes! With a family of 4, everyone had to get water when I did and it added up quickly. If you are taking a stroller for a small child, I would recommend having a large water container already filled for the day. Just an additional tip. If you have any questions, please email me. Never did use the cards anywhere. Experience on this site shows them to be more trouble than they're worth. Kids' menus, shared entrees (Yes, some restaurants add on a fee. Live with it.), ordering appetizers--all are infinitely simpler than pulling out those silly cards and attempting to explain life-altering surgery to someone who thinks Roux NY is a Manhattan Cajun bistro.

I'm a Disney World regular and I can say for certain that you won't need any card. Most of the eateries are cafeteria style and they don't care what you eat. Order a kids portion, order an appetizer, whatever you want is fine. I agree with Chuck -- it's infinately easier to order off the child's menu or to order an appetizer than it is to try and explain surgery to a bored waiter who could care less. I have not had any problems in any restaurant ordering from the child's menu. If they don't have a child's menu, I order a salad or an appetizer and ask it to be served with the entrees. Never a problem.
