Questions Regarding Insurance Order from State of Michigan

After two denials, approval, a failed psych exam, I went to the state insurance commissioner and had Health Alliance Plan's (aka HAP) overturned. I now have a order that HAP must pay my expenses regarding surgery. My question - since I have this order, do I need to have pre-surgical authorization? Do I need to redocument my diet history? I don't know for sure, but I would say first place to check is with your surgeons office. If they have a bariatric coordinator or insurance person, they would know the answer. They deal with these things daily. Good Luck!!
