Question:
Need HELP with state hearing

BAD NEWS...My appeal for panniculectomy was denied dec.2nd. due to no documentation of failed conservative treatment in the physician notes.... I had letters of support from ALL my dr.'s along with pics. and ER release papers along with the scripts for backaches....THE GOOD NEWS... I can still request for a state hearing (which I have 90 days to request). Ins. won't tell me (why would I think they would) how long a period of time is enough to prove conservative treatment 3months 6months .WHAT?.. I never really complained to my pcp about my back aches and rashes I've been so used to handling them at home by myself for so many yrs...So YES I've learned my lesson...So the way I see it I have at least 90 days to go see my pcp as much as possible to COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN about these darn rashes, which I always have in some degree or another... Does anyone know about how long it typically takes to actually get a state hearing after requesting it...    — tracy W. (posted on December 7, 2004)
