Question:
After viewing the panniculectomy/hernia removal photos I'm scared.
I am scheduled for Panniculectomy/hernia removal this Thursday. Could those of you who have been thru this email me and tell me if it's as bad as those pix look? She looks like they cut her in half...I didn't think the wls was that bad....and expected this to be easier because I've been excercising so much and am 120 pound less....I need to hear from those of you who have experienced this. thank you for your time. — Shelly G. I had an extensive panni & muscle tuck. It was not a picnic, but it
was OH-SO-WORTH-IT! I have the tummy of a teenager, which I didn't have
EVER, ever in my life before. I would hope I'd never have to regain all
the wt, but if I did, I would not hesitate to do it again. Mine was done by
my bariatric surgeon when I was 5 # from goal wt.

I am sorry to be the one to tell you this but in my opinion the pannic. and
hernia repair was a more painful surgery than the original. If you
consider the fact that there is much more surface area that is being cut
this makes sense. In my case the TT inc. is hipbone to hipbone along the
bikini line--so it doesn't show in anything but the skimpiest panties. And
they also reopened the entire original incision and repaired several
hernias along it. I hope they aren't trying to do yours as an
outpatient--you need at least a day or too in the hospital purely for pain
management. Make sure you have lots of pain med. when you go
home--preferrable something strong like dilaudid. The first week-10 days
are going to be rough and then you should feel fine. I'm being honest not
to scare you but so you'll be prepared---the good news is it is SO worth
it!! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck--

appropved, done and the weight gone!!
