Question:
Has anyone had surgery and NOT lost any hair at all? If yes, please explain.

I am jsut about six months post op, at goal, down 101 pounds. I have had no hair loss. I take a Real Meals shake everyday. It has a combination of biotin and special nutrients that is supposed to help prevent hair loss. So far it has worked for me, and hair loss is supposed to occure between 3 and 6 months.

Hello, I am a little over 6 months post-op and I haven't lost any hair. I get all of my protein from food, I don't eliminate fats from my diet like some do (I just cut down on my carb intake) and I haven't taken any kind of hairloss product. So far I've lost 126 pounds and haven't had any problems.

I'm 17 months post op and never lost any hair. Some attribute the hair loss to lack of protein, some to anesthesia. All I can say is I started 1-2 protein shakes a day (from vitalady.com) at week 3. No I couldn't drink the whole thing but I tried. Anyway...never took biotin or anything else. But I know of folks who did the shakes and still lost hair. I'm thinking it just may be the luck of the draw. It was almost a deal breaker for me preop when I found out you could lose hair. But it didn't totally stop me...just slowed me down. Good luck and God Bless!

I am 6+ months post op and have not lost any hair. Have not taken anything to prevent hair loss. I do eat or drink protein at every meal and for snacks. I take a multi-vit, B12, calcium...no Biotin, etc. And I am losing wt. slowly [not on purpose, that's just the way it is working out for me!] I have always had thick hair, and I am 49 years old. Best of luck to you!

I'm 6 months out and I haven't lost any hair either. I just take a regular multi-vitamin and an iron pill each day. According to my surgeon if you haven't lost it by the 5th month you should be ok. (I just hope I haven't jinxed myself by saying that!)- Mike

I'm 6 plus months out and I have not lost my hair at all. I cut it all off thinking that I would be bald but that never happened. I have not had problems getting in my protein and I religiously take TJ's Hair, Skin and Nails formula three times per day. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or if I was just lucky!

I am about 5 1/2 weeks post op and have had no signs of any hair loss. I am not doing anything "special".. just taking my children's chewable mutivitamins (2), calcium citrate, and sublingual B-12 supplements, and trying to get in my protein.

I am 6 and 1/2 months post op and have lost 75 pounds. I have not lost any hair. I eat lots of protein, take my vitamins and don't do anything special to my hair.
