This is entirely up to your surgeon when he wants to release you for work. Some people go back after 1 week, I went back after 3 1/2 weeks.

I work at the schools and had mine over Thanksgiving break. I had it on a Tuesday before break started. so was off Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, then the weekend, then returned to work after a week long break. I sit at a desk and monitor naughty students all day. I had it lap. by the way.
