Question:
Anyone heard of "Low Carb Solutions"?
I am pre-op and have been researching some of the protein supplements offered. Recently I came across a brand called "Low Carb Solutions" and they offer the protein powder for shakes and pre-mixed "ready to drink" shakes. They state that the pre-mixed drink contains 2 grams of sugar and 20 grams of protein, the powder for mixing your own shakes contains 0 grams of sugar and 19 grams of protein. They are reasonable in price for both and I was wondering what some of the post-ops thought of this drink and the protein / sugar counts. Thank you! :-) — Stephanie D. (posted on December 2, 2000)

What a coincident! I just came back from Walmart and I bought some of the
Carb Solutions "Delicious Cappuccino" flavored drink. I don't
know how they taste yet but they look really good. I am 7 weeks post op
and having a problem with protein drinks. Right after my surgery I was
fine with the powder that the hospital used and then all of a sudden I just
couldn't stomach it. All the powders I've tried after that have also made
me gag and the pre-made drinks all had too many grams of sugar.

I am pre-op and sorry to answer your question with a question, but alas...
So, you can get these at Wal-Mart? Is that right? I have been looking
around for protein supplements on the internet and they all seem so
expensive! If these are reasonable I would like to know where to look for
them!!! Thanks.

Sorry I forgot to mention where I found them for those that might be
interested. I found them at Kmart and the container of powder mix was $9.99
and the pre-mixed drink was $3, much more reasonable than others I've been
looking at.

I just got the flyer for Walgreens this week and they are 9.99 for the
powder mix , 8.99 for a four pack of the ready to drink bottles , and 1.99
for the bar. I am going to try the bar and ready to drink stuff this week ,
if I like it I will buy the powder. I work there so I get an extra 15% off.
