8/7/2000 I went back to work part-time (one day less than four weeks post)! I still occasionally have problems eating certain foods. I started on soft solids earlier than my doctor wanted because I got to where I didn't want to eat if I had to eat the same old things I was eating. I find that I don't get hungry. I have to watch the clock and remind myself to eat to keep my strength. One time I went almost twenty-four hours without eating and my knees got weak. I don't plan on doing that again!

I spoke to Toni this week after her check up. Got her tube out, and doing great. Almost ready to go back to work! Way to go, Toni!

I just spoke to Toni and she is doing fine. I will go to the hospital tomorrow to help her walk. She sounded good and says that all is well except she is sleepy. I am very glad for her but I can't wait for 8/15 to come so I can join her and all the rest of you who have journeyed to the other side. God's speed Toni.

I'm two days away from surgery!!! Yippee! The house is in good shape, work is in good shape, and I'm in great shape (well emotionally speaking of course!) Thanks for all of the e-mails of support. Only those of who are morbidly obese truly understand the emotions that go with this surgery. For the rest of our lives we will alter the way we eat and drink to be healthy. Such a sacrafice yet people just as horribly for it. God speed to all others having surgery (and me!)
