Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Books, Videos, Supplements, Weight loss programs, Food delivery, gym memberships and everything that was out there for someone seeking weight loss I had paid for and hoped would work. Much to my dismay my uncontrollable hunger and bad habits had me gaining all the weight I lost and then some. My health was very much compromised by the obesity along with being miserable. Made the choice to have RNY gastric bypass and began learning all I could to follow this new life style, I did all I was told.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

People seem to overlook me and ignore me, I felt so low. People can see that I have issues because of the weight, its hard to be heavy in a world that values perfect figures. I avoided invitations to events with my family I was afraid I would make them ashamed of me being so obese.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Wow, I love to buy clothes! I love to take photos, before I would not allow any pictures. No matter how often I see the new me I am surprised! WOW, I look okay now!!! I worked out nearly daily so that I would not have issues with sag, while I will have some I do believe the exercise helped me lose weight all around. I only wish I had done this sooner.
