i know everybody loses at different paces, but can you guys please post how much weight you've lost in how long of time. I'm three weeks out of a rny and have only lost 15. does this sound about on track, its also interesting to see where we can be and what our bodies are capable of.
thanks

Hey Bonnie,

It took me a long time to get this but you know what.....ONLY shouldn't be a word when it comes to our weight loss. 15 pounds in 3 week is amazing and this is probbaly one of the first times in your life that you know the weight will stay off.
It's hard to not compare yourself to others and I also had issues with that but now I am so Thankful for what I have loss it doesn't matter. It is interesting to know what other have loss but it can also be frustrating and dishearting cause you think you're behind some or not lossing as fast as some. We are all individual for a reason and we will get there in the end, maybe before some others or behind some.
Enjoy and embrace all the changes that are happening. Good Luck with your journey.

Kee.

I am 14 months out and down a total weight loss of 130 lbs (this I pre and post surgery....I didn't lose much pre surgery)
You WILL have stalls and you will then have sudden drops and then you WILL have some small regain followed by more loss and stalls...it will take about 2 years before your weight levels off completely...

Hi Bonnie,

Everyone looses weight at different speeds.... Mine has been slow and steady... but then I keep saying that I didn't gain it in 10 or 20 lb bunches either... gained slowely, lost slowely...

I had lost about 100 lbs before I decided to have surgery. After the 100 lbs... I got absolutely terrified that my roller coaster ride would start up again and I would gain back all that I lost plus more... so I had RNY done in August of 2010.

Best decision I have ever made... I had a few complications, a stricture and now an ulcer, but even with that... I would never change my mind.... !!!

It took me just over a year to loose the first 100 lbs and I've lost my second 100 lbs since surgery, so about 9 months...

I actually have less than 20 lbs to go until goal weight...

This has been the BEST ride of my life!!!!!

I do remember that during the first month after surgery... I lost about 20 lbs but then regained a couple the next month... then went into a 3 week stall.... but dropped nicely after that...

15 lbs in 3 weeks is AWESOME.... so try not to compare yourself too much with what others have done.... just use the info as a guideline....

Good Luck... I hope all goes well for you!!!

Melody

Hi Bonnie, as people have already said 5lbs a week is fabulous, slow and steady wins the race. As for myself as of Sunday I'm 6 months out and have lost a total of 117lbs.just keep thinking positive and remember it took us a long time to put the weight on and any losses in the scale is a plus.
