First appointment

I have my first appointment at Beth Israel on November 24th. I really am scared due to the stuff that has gone on the the last 2 weeks. I do not think my husband has heard about the stapler fiasco, because if he had he would be having a fit. I know it is normal to feel nervous, but I don't know if I am doing the right thing. Am I crazy. Chris

Hi Chris I can understand why you might feel a bit nervous, but Beth Israel is an excellent hospital. Ask questions at your appointment (make a list) and maybe you will feel more comfortable after your visit. Good luck!! Laura

Hi Christine, You are so normal to be nervous about this. I can tell you though, that I felt that the risks of remaining Morbidly Obese far outweighed the risks of surgery. I had my open RNY at Brigham & Womens in Feb 2002 and am so happy that I made this decision. I am healthier than I have ever been before. If you are interested, I can tell you about a WLS support group right near you in Methuen. I go to it. Kim O
