My husband god love him took up running last fall and is preparing to run a half marathon on May 15th - he ran in the Harry Rosen Run-Off today and I'd love to share pictures and the story of the day with you all!

Please check out our journey on our family blog - no worries there's no ads or other nonsense on the blog it's just for our friends and family to keep up with us!

There's even a picture of me with the family which is so rare  because I always shy away from pics!

I have to say I'm a little jealous of my husband - I wanted to be out there running with him and he has tried to get me going but when I do try to jog even very short distances at this rate it's like I'm going to die after 1 minute.

What a great family event. Thanks for sharing with us (me). I get so encouraged in my running when I see people acheive something like this. Perhaps I'll have to find a race to sign up for. It just scares me a little.

Did you get into running before your WLS or after?  Did you find it got easier with time?

I ran a little after high school but not long. Then I ran about 10 years ago and was doing approximately 10k but didn't really get into the groove or have a plan. It was also during a time of stress when I was going to court to convict my childhood abuser, so I wasn't eating at the time, so it was very difficult to have the strength to keep it up.  But I did love it each time I did it. Now that I have used the C25K plan I feel confident to keep going and will continue to the C210K plan in about a week when the other is completed. The program really helped me see the success in a running plan and quick results too.

Love the pictures.  The kids look like they had a lot of fun.  Someday that will be you running (or walking ) right beside your hunny.  I would love to run a 5 km some day.   I can't believe that those words are coming out of my mouth.  I hated even walking up to the second floor 2 months ago and now feel like I can start running.  Love my RNY.

Take care,
Donna
