for those who have gone through windsor

it has now been 6 1/2 months since my doctor has send my referal. it was november 17 2010 when he sent it and i'm worried that they misplaced it or something. has anyone else been waiting this long for their initial appointment or is this normal. also could anyone let me know if they mail a letter or call with the first appointment.   thankyou

I am in Windsor as well. I sent my referral in on March 2nd 2010 and didn't have a call for orientation till January 2011.

I had orginally sent had my information faxed in Novemberf 2009.  This same time last year I had not heard from them so I called them.  I had my orientation the next month.  Now I do know they are getting busier and busier but I would call them just to have peace of mind.

I would call to follow up that they received your referral.  My referral went in September 30, 2010 and I received a letter in February and had my orientation on March 10th.

 I would definatly give them a call my referral was sent in December 17th 2010 and I got a letter in Feb saying the recieved it and had my orientation on May 12th

yes i would defintely call them.. I had my referall sent in and within a few months I got my first appt. with them.. mind you they are alot busier than they were a year ago when i started my process

my family doctor sent my referral in on august 20th, 2009. i got a phone call from the windsor clinic at the start of may 2010, asking me if i was still interested in the surgery. i said yes, and they booked me for the orientation for may 17th.

thankyou everyone for your replies, i called there today and they let me know that they tried to contact me back in march and they had the wrong address so they booked me into there info session in august. i appreciate all of your replies, thankyou.

Hi there - I'm also in Windsor and my referral was sent in by my doctor in July 2010 & I had my orientation in February 2011, so I waited about 7 months. Your wait sounds pretty normal, especially since things are supposedly moving more slowly these days. I received a letter from them notifying me of the date for my orientation.  Good luck to you!

A friend of mine had her referral sent in May 2010, and she had orientation mid January 2011.  I was referred at the end of January 2011 and received my orientation letter in the mail June 8 2011, dated June 6, 2011.  In Windsor, ON, they send letters in the mail that tell you to call to make an appointment. 

I'll be there in August too.  I think it is August 13 I am going.
