Update on Wendy, post-plastics
This will be of interest to the Mississauga crowd only, I think.
So I went to see Wendy last night.
She looks AMAZING.
The gynie told her they removed the equivalent of a *CHICKEN* from her abdomen during the hysterrectomy.
And her plastics guy is very pleased with her progress.
She isn't used to a longer recovery, having only the RNY to go by (that was her only surgery til now).
So she wants to feel better, and somehow can't.
She's still wearing the compression garment, which looks a little like a black wetsuit for diving.
Long arms, to keep the underarms tight, very girdle-like in the middle, and extends all the way down to the knees.
Her arms look wonderful - they're less than half their previous size.
And she's lost at least two clothing sizes in her tummy.
The thighs are not finished un-swelling yet, so it's hard to tell how well they will turn out.
But she's off all her pain meds, and walking every day.
So I'd say she's doing very well, all told.
She hopes to see you all at September's Mississauga Cawfee talk.
