weight gain before appt
Hello All,
I have my meet the surgeon appointment tomorrow and I am fearful. I have gained a bit of weight since my appointment with the nurse practitioner. Can they decline me based on this? I didn't change my eating habits at all, I have just been so busy at home taking care of my daughter that I have either forgotten to eat or didn't manage as much exercise as usual. Has anyone been held back due to weight gain?
You do not mention which centre you are through. Each one seems to have different rules. They are looking to see if you will make changes. If you are too busy now to make the changes, not sure how you would do after. It takes work to follow the program, get all your supplements, drink your water and exercise. Unfortunately WLS is not the easy answer some think it is. It is great tool but you do have to be willing to work at it.
Nowhere did I state that that this was in any way the easy answer.
My daughter starts day care on Monday and I go back to work next month so managing this will be fine. Its just been a rough couple weeks as I am losing my father to cancer and being a single mom at the moment while my husband is away. I realize it takes work and do not need to be reminded of that as I have welcomed this opportunity and am aware of what it will take, its just the last 2 weeks I have gained 5 pounds because life has been a roller coaster with some emotional events thats all.
I am dealing with Toronto Western Hospital.
If you are TWH and gained weight it is not a big deal I gained weight during the process.
They just want to make sure you are committed to to the work and lifestyle changes it takes after the surgery.
