Semi-private rooms?

Can anyone tell me the bed set up at Guelph?  Are there semi-private rooms or ward rooms?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to figure out if my insurance will completely cover the difference between the two. Thanks.

Don't know about Guelph, but at St Mike's they roll you out of recovery into a ward room with up to three other folks in it as they want to monitor you closer than the semi private allows.  I was in that ward room one night, all the other guys were quiet, no problems,  They moved me to semi private and I shared the room with a guy who had just had colorectal surgery and his pain was not well controlled, moaned and screamed all night long.  Residents, nurses and family coming and going all night, would have gladly been back in the ward room.  Perhaps not common, just my experience.

I had surgery in Guelph Aug 28th and they have both ward rooms and semi-private rooms. Good luck!

I was at Guelph, for pre admission the nurse asked if I had insurance for semi and took my info. If your not sure just call your insurance company. I was in a semi room, included in the semi was TV and phone.

I was also lucky enough to have a surgery twin as my roomie.

I just came out of a semi private room today- not bad

It's $35 a night more for a private room there but they are really hard to get.  Good luck !

Thanks everyone for the information...I will enquire with the nurse at my pre-op appointment and make sure I contact the insurance company before then :)
